In Sense Play, we invite our very tiniest visitors to a baby workshop where we make use of the whole of our sensory apparatus. Here, babies can experience senso-motoric and creative activities, by exploring tactile installations and painting with natural and edible ingredients.

We start with a little performative tour of one of the museum’s permanent Munch exhibitions, since the workshop is based around a particular painting. In January and February we’ll be getting to know Edvard Munch’s Starry Night (1922–24), being inspired by the painting’s colours, shapes and atmosphere.

Welcome to an intimate, playful experience which will stimulate the senses as well as your interactions with your baby.

The workshop is developed by Emilia Ruostila, a children’s pedagogue specialising in visual art. The event is held in collaboration with the museum’s expert art educators.
