In Sense Play, we invite our very tiniest visitors to a baby workshop where we make use of the whole of our sensory apparatus. Here, babies can experience senso-motoric and creative activities, by exploring tactile installations and painting with natural and edible ingredients.
We start with a little performative tour of one of the museum’s permanent Munch exhibitions, since the workshop is based around a particular painting. In January and February we’ll be getting to know Edvard Munch’s Starry Night (1922–24), and in March in The Sun (1910-11) by Edvard Munch.
Welcome to an intimate, playful experience which will stimulate the senses as well as your interactions with your baby.
The workshop is developed by Emilia Ruostila, a children’s pedagogue specialising in visual art. The event is held in collaboration with the museum’s expert art educators.
