At Kids’ Art-fest we’re inviting kids to meet some exciting artists, take part in creative workshop activities and be inspired almost every month. This Sunday we’re celebrating Mr Storm!

We got the idea for Mr Storm while working on the factual exhibition Shadows. Among Edvard Munch’s old things from his house at Ekely, there was a little dead mouse. Now, in the brand new children’s book A Mouse in Munch’s House, by Pjotr Sapegin, you can read the story of the wonderful friendship between Munch and Mr Storm. We’ll be celebrating the book’s release with a full-on art-fest for kids, chock full of nifty, fun activities.

In the museum’s Amfi there’ll be musical story time with singer, poet and storyteller Sarah Camille Osmundsen, who’ll be performing extracts from the first chapter of A Mouse in Munch’s House. Children can also get to meet Pjotr Sapegin, the book’s author and illustrator.

In the museum’s large Festsal, Katta’s Puppet Theatre welcomes you to the specially-created shadow-theatre performance, The Magical Journey of Munch and the Mouse. You'll pass through a big, lit-up tunnel where you’ll see shadow-theatre episodes on the walls. Join Munch and Mr Storm as they travel from their home at Ekely via fantastical landscapes, on a route that goes across the gigantic, glittering night sky and back down to MUNCH at Bjørvika. After the journey, children can explore light and shadows outside the tunnel, in a shadow theatre workshop held by Marthe Brandt.

There'll also be a silhouette workshop in the lobby, and who knows ... Maybe Mr Storm himself might pop up and join us today?
