Film screening with Shruti Ganguly

MUNCH invites you to a screening with the filmmaker Shruti Ganguly, who has directed and produced short films in connection with the current exhibition Call Me by My Name.

Ganguly presents film portraits with the artist Ahmed Umar, musician Musti and author Guro Sibeko, in addition to clips from the short films About The People (2020) with Michael K. Williams, and These Hands (2020).

Shruti Ganguly is a filmmaker and writer based in Oslo and New York, currently working on developing new digital content at MUNCH. She is committed to social justice, anti-racism and equality and was a member of Barack Obama‘s ECCO committee of 30 leaders and creators in entertainment, and developed the series #MySentence linked to prison reform. Her production company honto88 has TV series set up at Warner Bros. and MGM, and she is currently writing a feature adaptation of the bestselling novel, Secret Daughter, which will star Priyanka Chopra and Sienna Miller. Ganguly is a co-founder of the Resistance Revival Chorus, a collective born out of the Women's March that brings together artists and activists to use music and joy as an act of resistance.
