Edvard Munch lived in Oslo until the age of 17. Oslo was called Kristiania back then – and the city was growing. Here, Munch spent his formative years and grew alongside his siblings. At the age of 17, the young man decided to become a painter. Munch’s journey as an artist was long and arduous until his death at the age of 80. To understand his journey as an artist and his passion for art, we must travel back in time to his childhood in Oslo.
