In August 2022, MUNCH will be swinging, vibrating and grooving to the eclectic sounds of contemporary jazz – as 8 concerts from the Oslo Jazz Festival are presented at the museum.  

Jazz + MUNCH = the perfect summer festival experience!

Among the stellar international names appearing in August will be Jason Moran, Maria Schneider, Anthony Braxton and Brandee Younger. Norwegian artists include Stian Carstensen, Stein Urheim and Trondheim jazzorkester – in a special collaboration with pianist Jason Moran. 

MUNCH has a long relationship with jazz dating back to the 1960s, when the likes of Jan Garbarek, Karin Krog and Bill Evans appeared at the original museum in Tøyen.
