Searching for paintings by Ludvig Karsten

MUNCH will open an exhibition of paintings by Ludvig Karsten (1876-1926) on October 17, 2025. In connection with loans for the exhibition, we would like to locate the following paintings:

We see a nude woman in profile, sitting. The painting is rendered in shades of red and green, blending into yellow and blue.

A half-length portrait of Jappe Nilssen. He is seated, resting his elbows on the armrests of a chair, with his hands crossed in front of his stomach. The entire painting is in shades of grey.

A white, rocky beach curves gently inward across the image. In the background, a dark mountain rises from the shoreline.

A meadow with a white fence and a white gate. It is autumn, and the meadow is painted in shades of orange, yellow, red, and green. In the background, there are houses, a church spire, and a blue sky.

We want to get an even better overview of Ludvig Karsten's oeuvre. If you own a painting by Ludvig Karsten not mentionned here we would like to hear from you.
