Exhibition
Munchmuseet, Tøyen
Airborne pollutants have over the years, including during Munch’s life, inflicted wear and tear on the paint and the colours. In order to safely conserve the collection, we must analyse Munch’s original materials and painting techniques, as well as the impact of pollution and dust.
The exhibition also discusses ethical concerns related to cleaning Munch’s paintings, and we focus on showing the knowledge and know-how we base our conservation processes on.
The exhibition features specific examples and relevant pictures.
