A journey through Oslo’s queer history with personal stories that would otherwise be lost.
Based on interviews with women in Oslo from diverse backgrounds and with varying gender/sexual identities, the artist Sam Hultin’s project recounts official queer history, but also focuses on personal stories of love and relationships to reflect how people and places affect the individual.
A map over all the stories hung on the facade of the Munch Museum throughout the summer of 2016, and visitors were given a small version of the map with access to the soundtracks to conduct the city walk by themselves. Three communal walks, together with the artist, were carried out over the summer. These walks were led by Lara Okafor, Mathilde Decaen and Fethawit Hakin, respectively.
