For the first time ever, contemporary artist Marlene Dumas has taken on the role of curator for an artist other than herself. With the opportunity to freely select artworks from the Munch Museum's collection, she has assembled what she refers to as "a love story about tenderness, passion and agony". In the exhibition Moonrise. Marlene Dumas & Edvard Munch, she shows us art by Munch and the Dutch painter René Daniëls in dialogue with her own work.
Hear the Munch Museum's co-curator Trine Otte Bak Nielsen talk about process of developing the exhibition, the selection of artworks on display, and the new book titled Omega's Eyes. Marlene Dumas on Edvard Munch. She will also provide background information which can help you discover new and interesting elements when exploring the exhibition.
The curator talk is free to attend for MUNCH+ members (with one guest).
