Apple Tree By the Studio

Munch became familiar with Ekely’s landscape by painting it. One of his favourite recurring motifs were the orchards and woodlands surrounding the house. This apple tree bulges and hangs heavy with ripening fruit, while his original, newly-built studio rises in the background.
